Support for artist residencies
The module supports residencies in the Nordic and Baltic countries that offer working facilities for professional artists and cultural operators resident in a Nordic or Baltic country.
Funding
- the module provides funding for residency centres in the Nordic and Baltic countries to receive professional artists and cultural operators from other countries in the region than were the residency is based in
- each awarded residency will receive annual funding to cover scholarships for 2 - 4 artists
- the scholarships will cover travel expenses, board and lodging and other costs directly connected to the artist for approimately 2 months
- the residencies themselves select the artists according to the residencies' own criteria
- the residencies may also select groups of artists and/or minor ensembles according to the residency’s art, genre and criteria
- the residency is offered the opportunity to attend an annual meeting to exchange experiences and to discuss questions related to the development of residencies
The concept of residency
- offers professional conditions for concentrated and productive work for professional artists, cultural operators and researchers
- creates meetings between professional artists
- introduces contacts to the art and culture field in the residency’s surrounding area
- takes part in the current artistic discourse
