Three artists' residencies from the Baltic countries have received a grant for hosting visiting artists from the Nordic or Baltic countries. The grant covers the costs for 2-4 artists who can stay for about two months each. The residencies that received support are Kanuti Gildi SAAL/NGO 2.tants in Tallinn, Estonia, The International Writers' and Translators' House/Ventspils House in Ventspils, Latvia, and Culture and Arts Project NOASS in Riga, Latvia. Altogether 13 residencies from the Baltic countries applied for funding; 7 from Estonia, 5 from Latvia, and 1 from Lithuania.
The residencies choose the visiting artists according to their own criteria. If you are interested in visiting one of the residences, you should contact the residence directly.
This application round for artists' residencies was open only for Baltic residencies, because the Baltic countries were not part of the programme during the first application round in 2007. For the same reason, the Baltic residencies now received only a one-year grant. Next application round opens in 2010, and both Nordic and Baltic residencies can apply for a three-year support.
