Big increase in number of applications

The Culture and Art Programme received a total of 312 applications in this year’s first application round.

The corresponding figure from last year’s first round was 198, and the increase compared to last year was thus more than 50 percent.  Out of the submitted 312 applications 224 projects applied for support for production-based activity and 88 for capacity development.

The increase is at least partly due to the changes in the programme criteria, which made also the amateur and voluntary sector eligible for funding. Until now the programme has only funded projects of professionals.

The next application round for Culture and Art Programme is the autumn, 18 August – 15 September 2010.
