Translation support now administered by Norla

Nordic Council of Ministers has made adjustments to the translation support. The changes are, however, of administrative nature and do not affect the applicants.Nordic Council of Ministers has a special grant for translating Nordic literature and drama from one Nordic language to another. The funding is granted for Nordic publishers and theatres. This translation support was earlier part of Culture and Art Programme and administered by Nordic Culture Point in cooperation with the Norwegian literature network Norla. In 2010, the translation support was separated from the programme, and is now administered by Norla on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
From the applicant’s perspective, there are no major changes in the system. As before, the translation support is applied for in the country where the original work has been published. Contact information of national centres of literature, as well as guidelines and conditions for the translation support, are available at Norla’s website.
General questions concerning the translation support can be addressed to Gina Winje, director of Norla,
