Föstudagur, 20 Ágúst 2010 10:08

Jakob Aahauge started his job as the new communications advisor at Nordic Culture Point in the beginning of August. His main task will be to develop and produce material to the website.

Jakob has studied journalism and litterature at the University of Copenhagen. He has earlier worked in communications and as a freelance journalist for different magazines mainly in the field of architecture. He has also been the editor and project leader for a webproject in Denmark, an experience he now hopes to be of help in his new job at Nordic Culture Point.

The international dimension that the Nordic cooperation offers is of great interest to Jakob. He would like to use the existing strong Nordic identity to the marketing of Nordic countries internationally. He would also like to draw more attention to the possibility for free mobility between the Nordic countries.

Jakob speaks of Nordic simplicity and melancholy, terms that are already used in visual arts, architecture, design and litterature. He believes that Nordic culture has a lot to offer and he is truly happy for being able to work with Nordic projects.

"It is a priviledge to work with something I can strongly relate to. That gives me great pleasure in my work," he says.

The new environment comes with new challenges. Jakob has set as a goal to learn to know not only Helsinki but Finland as a whole.

"It is very excting to be here. As a Dane, I find Finland much more excotic than Norway or Sweden."
