There is a clear increase in the number of applications to the Nordic Council of Ministers Art and Culture programme and the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture, compared to last year. Most application rounds are now closed for this year.

When this year’s last deadline for applications to the Art and Culture programme expired on 3 September, Nordic Culture Point had received 396 applications. In 2008, the total number of submitted applications was 309.

The Mobility Programme has now completed all application rounds for network projects and three of its four mobility support rounds, and received altogether 822 applications. In 2008, a total of 614 applications were submitted to the programme. The final application round opens on 14 October and closes on 11 November.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania joined the Mobility programme in February 2009, and this partly explains the sharp increase in the number of applications to the programme.

The experts of the two programmes are now evaluating the applications according to the programme criteria, and will then make decisions on which projects will receive funding.

Next years application deadlines for both programmes will be published on Nordic Culture Point’s webpage as soon as they are confirmed.
