The expert group for the mobility program has made changes to the fixed accommodation grants, which are available for professionals of art and culture wishing to visit the Nordic or Baltic countries or the self-governing areas.
The grants were adjusted according to the present living costs in the region. The grant for Iceland, for example, has been cut down, but persons visiting Finland will be granted a bigger amount. The changes will apply from the next application round for the mobility grants, opening in August 2010.
The accommodation grants cover a seven-day stay in the country of destination. The grants are a little higher for the capital regions than for the rest of the country. The applicant must be the same person as the one travelling, and the destination needs to be outside of the present country of residence. The applicant needs to be a resident of a Nordic or Baltic country. The grant is available only for individuals, not groups.
