Mobility funding for 67 applicants

Þriðjudagur, 29 Júní 2010 09:46

Mobility grants have been distributed for the second time this year, and on this round funding was granted for 67 professionals within art and culture. The mobility funding is part of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture.

The expert group has now assessed all 315 applications, which were submitted for the spring application round. The number of applications was 43 per cent bigger than on the corresponding application round last year, when 220 applications were submitted.

The 67 funded projects received altogether 92 000 euro.

Funding is granted for seven-day visits to a Nordic or Baltic country or a self-governing area. The mobility grant is a fixed amount, which corresponds with the subsistence costs in the destination country.

Mobility funding is one of the three funding alternatives in the Mobility programme. The programme also gives funding for building new networks and for artists’ residences wishing to invite visiting artists from other Nordic and Baltic countries.

The mobility programme is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Baltic countries. The programme is open for professionals within all fields of art and culture, who live in a Nordic or a Baltic country or a self-governing area. The Baltic countries joined the programme in 2009.

Mobility funding is open for applications again in the autumn. This year’s third application round is on 4 August – 1 September 2010.
