From February 25th to March 5th the IV Nordic Film Festival took place in Kaliningrad.
The Nordic Council Information Office in Kaliningrad and the movie theatre «Zarya» was the organizers behind this event.
«The aim of this movie festival is to promote cultural cooperation between the Nordic countries and Kaliningrad and films are an important part of this culture» says Arne Grove, Director of the Information Office.
All together it was ten movies on the programme, two from each Nordic country. Several of the films have gained international recognition on various film festivals. Through these films the local Kaliningraders could get acquainted with the features, mentality and sense of humour of the Nordic countries.
In occasion of the Finnish Presidency, the Finnish movie «Kohtaamisia» (Heartbeats) opened the festival.

Upperdog – Norway
A Somewhat Gentleman (En ganske snill mann) – Norway
Metropia – Sweden
Sound of Noise – Sweden
Mr. Biarnfredarson (Bjarnfreðarson) – Iceland
Kings Road (Kóngavegur) – Iceland
Headhunter – Denmark
Aching Hearts (Kærestesorger) – Denmark
